Zen Studios Reveals 'The THING Pinball' for Horror-Themed 'Pinball M'
It's weird and pissed off, whatever it is.
A helicopter flies recklessly overhead, its passenger firing frantic potshots at a seemingly helpless sled dog zig-zagging through the snow. For the skeleton crew at Outpost #31, it’s all the start of a deadly nightmare that serves as the basis for the final table revealed for Zen Studios' upcoming horror-themed Pinball M. Players will travel to the isolated outpost in the arctic tundra to be immersed in the events of John Carpenter’s cult-classic The THING.
In collaboration with Universal Products & Experiences, Zen Studios is bringing the horrors of The THING to its new fright-filled pinball lineup, Pinball M. Put your pinball skills to the test and fight back against the shape-shifting alien as paranoia grips Outpust #31.
The THING Pinball will feature:
Battle the grizzly Dog-Thing and fire at its tentacles to survive
Watch as crewmembers transform right before your eyes
Collect blood samples and activate the test to find The Thing
Unearth the BURIED IN ICE multi-ball for an advantage
Destroy The Thing once and for all by blowing up Outpost #31
The THING Pinball is the second time gamers could experience the tension of Carpenter’s suspense-filled sci-fi horror first-hand. In 2002, Black Label Games and Konami released the Computer Artworks-developed The Thing, an unofficial sequel to the 1982 movie. Available on PC, PS2, and Xbox, The Thing unexpectedly expands on the film’s lore by introducing biological warfare and an ill-fated attempt to cure cancer.
Pinball M is slated for launch on November 30 for the Epic Games Store, the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Steam, and Xbox. On launch, it will also feature digital cabinets featuring Chucky, Duke Nukem, and Dead by Daylight characters, and will include a Zen Studios original, Wrath of the Elder Gods: Director’s Cut.
