In 2010, the atmospheric world of Alan Wake came to life through a blend of skilled lighting and sound design. As Remedy Entertainment pushes the boundaries of mixed-media immersion, Alan Wake 2 will be the evolution of its 13-year-old predecessor. Along with advancing the conventions displayed during Wake’s first foray against the Taken, Remedy has partnered with the Helsinki-based recording studio and publishing company, Fried Music, to deliver a moody and haunting selection of original tracks that set the dreary tone for Alan Wake 2.
Alan Wake 2: Chapter Songs is comprised of seven original tracks headlined by international talents like Jean Castel and RAKEL as well as some of Finland’s most talented artists, including Teemu Brunila, Paleface, RZY, and Jurek.
To celebrate the reveal of the unprecedented partnership, Remedy and Fried Music released the first track, “Follow You into the Dark (featuring RAKEL),” on Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube, Pandora, Tidal, Amazon Music, and the iTunes Store.
Sam Lake, Creative Director at Remedy Entertainment, commented on the collaboration, calling it an “ambitious work of art where different mediums merge together to form a unique experience. We have specifically focused on music and worked to create many custom songs to enhance the story.”
Every song in this exclusive collection is tied directly to Wake’s universe and Alan Wake 2’s narrative. Lake personally worked on each track, lending his writing to create purposeful lyrics and ensure all seven songs were unmistakably connected to the game and the sordid adventures of Wake and new protagonist, FBI profiler Saga Anderson.
“Follow You into the Dark (featuring RAKEL)” features a melodic beauty and intoxicating energy that shows promise for the remaining six songs. The full track is as follows:
